RECYCLING
We receive shipments from our
manufacturers every day. We regularly encourage
all of our manufacturers to use recycled, renewable
products in their packaging and shipping materials.
At the Thompson Group, we pledge to:
-
Reuse cardboard boxes and paper
packaging whenever possible. When boxes cannot
be reused for our shipping requirements, we will
send all of the material to a recycling center in
Denver, CO.
-
Reuse all plastic bubble-wrap and
styrofoam "peanuts" sent to us by others, to lessen
the environmental impact of this material that has
already been fabricated.
-
Use recycled paper for necessary
printing.
OUR
SHIPPING SUPPLIES
Our shipping materials will consist of:
-
Reuse of supplies sent to us by
others, as described above.
-
Purchased "peanut" material will be
100% biodegradable material only.
-
Instead of using plastic bubble wrap,
we will purchase Geami, a product made of recycled
paper that produces a similar cushioning affect to bubblewrap.
-
Priority Mail shipments, using Cradle
to Cradle Certified boxes from the US Post Office
will be utilized whenever possible. When these
boxes cannot be used, purchase only boxes made of
recycled paper.
PAPERLESS DOCUMENTATION
We pledge to make every effort to utilize
technology for recordkeeping, the processing of orders,
and communication with our customers and business
partners. By using electronic record storage
and email communication, we have decreased our use of
paper by 75% since 2005.
HELP US DO OUR PART
We ask you, our customers, to help us
with our environmental responsibility. If
you receive a shipment from us that appears to have
previously used packaging material, please realize that
the material was saved from the land fill. Dispose
of the packing material by sending it to your local
recycling center.
If you have suggestions or comments about
our policy, our website, or your experience with our
company, we would like very much to hear from you.
